Smart Energy & Environmental solutions on the site
• Tracking of energy and water consumption
• Promoting energy and resource efficiency
The energy consumed in the township is fully from renewable sources or waste. The potential of on-site or local generation of renewable energy is exploited while ensuring a reliable power supply for users.
Water is of high quality and used efficiently, with the adequate quality required for different uses. The site is equipped with appropriate sanitation and wastewater treatment systems. For operation and maintenance (O&M) a good practice is established, including metering and monitoring of water consumption.
• Efficient water usage.
• Sanitation and Wastewater
The ambient air quality in the township is monitored for a number of pollutants (SPM, RSPM, SO2, NOx), which may pose harmful effects on human health. The requirements specified in the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) have to be attained.
• Air Quality
The waste and recycling concept in the operation phase of the township includes separate provisions for municipal (residential, service sector) and hazardous waste (medical, etc.). For the construction phase, a C&D waste management plan is developed, as well as provisions for the use of sustainable construction materials.

• Waste to Energy
The organization responsible for the site makes use of solutions to keep track of and control energy and water consumption. Energy and resource efficiency are promoted by IoT (internet of things), Data Analytics with AI/ML, and BIM (building information modeling) applications.
